PHOTO ALBUMS

Pictures in photo albums will leave many more memories than seeing pictures from a screen. Live conversations take place, minutes slipping into hours. How the years of long ago come into the present! As laughter erupts upon recollections of some years, tears may fall as we look back upon others. Thanks to God, for those years of memories, as He blesses us year after year.

OUR STORY

It is exciting to tell a story. It is also exciting to hear the story of others. We can come home and share what we learned. How fun this is, as well as letting our knowledge grow. It is as if we are nurturing a garden, seeing the different blossoms come forth, blending all of what we have learned into a new species of flower. It is one created by God, Him naming it “Listening,” in honor of the Almighty, that we may always stop to hear one another, to realize our words are not the only ones of importance, blessing all words!

A TRUST AND A PROMISE

Once a promise is made, never break it. Once trust is made, never let it go. To see a child’s tears, because of the break, can rip anyone’s heart. Seeing the wetness run down the cheeks, as if abandoned, would leave tears, even in the eyes of God. Let us renew His Spirit, telling Him in prayer, that no one will be ever left alone.

SADNESS, LOVE AND HOPE

A favorite Bible passage of mine is Romans 5:3-5, "We rejoice in our sufferings, know that suffering produces endurance and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us."
One little girl asked me why there had to be sadness in our lives. I tried to explain to her how this does bring us closer to God and the Holy Spirit. It makes us stronger, as we are filled with so much of His caring love while we go through hard moments in life. It is a very hard concept to understand and accept.  We must turn it over to God, who will help us carry our burdens. Our heavy load will be lighter, knowing the Holy Spirit will not abandon us. We will feel that hope of continuing on in life, just knowing how much love is being poured into us.

AVOIDING SOMEONE

I am reposting this for one reason, in memory of Andy. Little did I know that I would open the newspaper and see that Andy passed away this week. His wonderful smile and generosity will be missed.

At a tiny reunion, I saw ‘Andy,’ wanting to make contact. Though he was a friendly sort, I wasn't going out of my way to run over and say hi, for no particular reason. He finally made his way to me. I was friendly as we greeted a hello to one another. He said his mother had passed away and that he had saved one of her saint medals, always holding his pocket until he ran into me. I felt ashamed. I got home and found I had lost it. Frantic, I returned to the parking lot the next morning. There it was. The saint was already at work. I learned quickly what is precious to my heart.

NO LONGER A FRIEND

Two 7 year olds told me they were no longer friends. Though knowing eachother forever were no longer friends. They liked one another, but that was it. As adults, we can learn from them. In no way, could we sit by a person and say we are no longer friends, grinning at the other person. What a great experience to learn from our youth!' God has us learn from one another!

PRAYING FOR A STRANGER

Recently, a stranger paused in the patient waiting-area of a medical office, asking if she could speak to me. She had a tiny concern, and had to express her emotions to someone. After she did, I pulled out my prayer journal and asked for her name, saying I would call upon God to give her His blessings. Pleased, she was also startled a stranger would pray for her, gladly spelling her name. Smiling, she walked away. A small, unseen token can bring great comfort.
